Niet alles is altijd zo’n succes……..
Van Nancy Marchant leerde ik de techniek van de patentsteek. En natuurlijk moet zoiets vertaald worden naar een echt werkstuk, een baret van echte Rowan-wol in dit geval. Prachtig patroon, leuk en leerzaam om te maken ook. De baret werd prachtig, maar enkele maten te groot en vervilten in de wasmachine was de oplossing. Na drie wasbeurten was de baret inderdaad gekrompen tot de juiste maat. Bovendien was het contrast van de strepen iets terug gebracht, maar het model was eruit en Dana pikte ‘m meteen in als poezenbed.

Nancy Marchant taught me how to do the Brioche stitch. And of course this new knowledge had to be put in a real project, a beret made from real Rowan-wool in this case. Wonderful pattern, nice to knit and very much to learn from. The beret was lovely, but some sizes too big and felting in the washing machine was the solution. After three washings the beret had indeed shrunk to my size. And the contrast of the stripes was reduced, but the model was gone and Dana immediately took the chance to make a catbed of it.

Hoi Carla,
Jammer van je mooie baret. Wat vind je van het idee om de baret een voering te geven? Misschien dat de pasvorm weer terugkomt? ;-D

Ha ha, weet je hoeveel kattenhaar er al inzit? De samenstelling is nu 98% schapenwol en 2% kattenwol!

Dat katten altijd op zo een klein stukje gaan zitten. Kattenhaar is altijd zo plakkerig, je krijgt het altijd heel slecht uit wollen dingen.
