For knitters with at least one year of knitting experience!

In Estonian knitting typical Scandinavian geometrical motifs can be found that, when repeated, form beautiful designs. Sometimes they are used in cuffs or edges or a star motif is placed in the centre of a mitten. Furthermore there are typical Estonian cast-ons and very special decorative edges that can be used in mittens and hats.

During the class Estonian Edges and Borders you will learn several ways of casting on. We will try some of the specific knitting techniques in which horizontal plaits are made in one or more colours. After having practised the most important techniques for knitting mittens you will be able to knit genuine Estonian mittens from a pattern that is included in the class.

The classes are given in Dutch but it is often possible for English-speaking knitters to participate in the class. Please, consult The Dutch Knitters in advance.
