For knitters with at least half a year of knitting experience!

The way of starting and finishing your knitwear determines largely the result of many hours of knitting. So make sure you cast on and cast off well and use the edge stitches suitable for the kind of knitting. The right finishing gives your knitwear a professional look.

Examples of several castons and castoffs

During Casting on and Casting off you will learn several ways of casting on and how to choose the best cast-on for your knitting. I will do the perfect round knitted cast-on, the I-Cord cast-on, the provisional cast-on and several other methods. While knitting a sample you will also learn how to finish the side seams of your knitting.
Casting off is just as important. I will teach you how to do the I-Cord cast-off and a vertical round knitted cast-off that will both give a perfect result.

In the afternoon you will practice the perfect cast-on for tips of mittens and socks.

If there is time we will end the day with even more ways of casting on and casting off.

The classes are given in Dutch but it is often possible for English-speaking knitters to participate in the class. Please, consult The Dutch Knitters in advance.
