Grieks temperament op RimpelRock

Afgelopen zondag12 augustus jl. trad Vicky Leandros op voor het 50.000-tallig publiek van het Belgische Rimpelrock festival, waarvoor zij naast Helmut Lotti één van de hoofdattracties vormde. Zij tracteerde het publiek op een spetterend optreden, met een groot aantal hitmedleys uit de jaren 60, 70 en 80. Deze volgden elkaar in hoog tempo op en al snel zat de Griekse vakantiesfeer er goed in. Een koor van duizenden stemmen zong luidkeels met haar mee en overal vormden zich spontane Sirtaki’s, waaraan jong en oud meedeed. Door de vele toegiften liep haar optreden echter zodanig uit dat presentator Felice het dringend nodig achtte om even in te grijpen, en dat had hij beter niet kunnen doen... Geconfronteerd met Vicky’s Griekse temperament bond hij echter al snel in, waardoor zij over de ‘Liebe in deine Augen’ zingend haar sensationele optreden toch nog naar behoren kon afsluiten. ;-)

Greek temper at RimpelRock

Last Sunday, the 12th of August, Helmut Lotti and Vicky Leandros were the main attractions for the 50.000 visitors of the Belgium Rimpelrockfestival. This festival, special created for the 40-plus generation forms a popular stage for the stars from today and yesterday. Vicky did a spectacular performance, singing a lot of her hit medleys from the sixties, seventies and eighties. With her cheerful songs she created a typical Greek holiday atmosphere and the audience spontaneously joined in with her and danced on masse the Sirtaki. Because of the enthusiastic reactions she did a lot of encores. So many that the host of the show, Felice, found it necessary to end her performance and he better shouldn ’t have done that… Confronted with Vicky’s Greek temper he soon was forced to back down and made it Vicky possible to end her glorious performance with a song about the love in your eyes. ;-)
